Who is Trigram Technology?

Trigram Technology was founded by Joseph Buckle recognized as the leading developer of dynamic continuous speech recognition language models for the medical industry since 1996. Mr. Buckle has created medical language models for today's IBM, Dragon, ScanSoft/Dragon speech engines since 1996. Trigram Technology is a privately held company based in Southern California.

"How do they make them so accurate?"

There is a difference between a language model and a word list. Trigram starts by gathering data from hundreds of physicians within each specialty. Through analyzing the data from each specialty we can provide the speech engine not only the most frequently used words within a specialty but hundreds of examples of how the word is typically used.

"Sounds good, but what does it really mean to me, an end user?"

It means the end user will have much higher accuracy and a shorter learning curve. There will be less adding of specialty terms and drugs due to the comprehensive vocabulary.

“What if I already have NaturallySpeaking Medical Suite? Why would I want to buy an add on vocabulary?”

The Trigram Technology language models contain a lot more specific information as to how the given specialist uses the medical vocabulary in day-to-day dictation. The Drugs included in the vocabulary are much more up to date that the ones provided with Medical Suite alone. Also, the Trigram Technology language models are built to utilize the Medical Suite vocabulary base; so, you get the best of medical suite and the additional information provided by the Trigram Language models. What are MedTemps?

MedTemps is a very simple to use Electronic Medical Record program for the physician. MedTemps utilizes a collection of complete and simple to use HCFA and AMA compliant macros and templates for someone using Dragon speech recognition. Once installed into the speech recognition program MedTemps becomes a part of the program. It allows physicians to work the way in which they are accustomed to within their favorite speech recognition program. MedTemps is compatible with IBM's Via Voice and Dragon's NaturallySpeaking. Physician Written with strict adherence to Medicare Guidelines.

Intended Audience

Designed mainly for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, therapists, and others responsible for direct patient care and the reports generated in the documentation of that care.

How do I use them?

The templates are built into NaturallySpeaking as commands. To see the available templates thru NaturallySpeaking go to TOOLS on the menu bar and choose COMMAND BROWSER. You can separate the commands by CUSTOM COMMANDS to view the templates and macros.

Can I use the templates in MS Word or programs other than NaturallySpeaking DragonPad?

Yes, the templates and Macros should work in any program, which accepts speech recognition.

What are the templates called and how many are there?

Can I edit the templates?

YES!!! The templates come as a free add on and you own a license to use and modify the templates for you needs.

I have a colleague that is interested in the templates, but, doesn’t use speech recognition can I give him a copy of the templates?
